Slaveowner estate inventory listing Harriet (a.k.a. Hattie) Newberry

Above is the slave inventory record from John Barlow's estate (died 3 Aug 1852 in Dallas County Alabama). In the red box, you will find Harriet (a.k.a. Hattie). Harriet is listed with her family. Father Jerry...Mother Jane...Siblings Henry, Alfred, and Willie. Harriet was willed to John Barlow's deceased daughter's (Elizabeth Barlow Newberry) children. Since Elizabeth's children were living with their dad (Henry Newberry), Henry would take Harriet and they would later move to Saltillo MS around 1853-1855. Henry was found living in Saltillo MS (per the 1860 Federal Census) Itawamba County at the time (now Lee County).
